Pan-Fried Turkey with Rice

Sauteed Turkey

This recipe for pan-fried turkey with rice is not only very tasty but also very quick and easy to make. And there is beauty in simplicity.

Whether turkey or chicken version, this dish is very popular with us.

You only need a few ingredients. As for meat, turkey breasts are great. And then just some spices and some tasty veggies.

How to make turkey sauté with rice?

First of all, cook the rice. I like to use jasmine rice in this recipe. Wash it well under cold water, put it in a pot and season with salt.

For four servings I recommend about 250 grams or one and a half cups of rice. In that case, use two and a half cups of water. Cover the pot, bring to a boil, then immediately reduce the temperature to a minimum.

Simmer gently for about 10 minutes. By this point, the rice should absorb almost all of the water.

And the turkey sauté itself is straightforward too. Cook the onion and garlic and add the meat. Season with salt, black pepper, and sweet paprika powder. I always recommend freshly ground black pepper, which brings a fresher and more intense flavor.

Then just add the chopped bell pepper, corn, mustard, and ketchup.

While the rice is cooking, the meat should be ready too. That’s the beauty of this recipe. Everything takes a little while and you will definitely love it!

Description

You only need half an hour for this amazing pan-fried turkey with veggies and rice. It’s easy, quick and absolutely delicious!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 400 g turkey breast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 150 g corn
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 spring onion for garnish
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a larger pan and add the chopped onion and garlic.
  2. After two minutes add the diced turkey breasts. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Let the meat cook for a few minutes over medium-high heat. Stir only occasionally to get a nice golden-brown color.
  4. Then add the diced red bell pepper, mustard, ketchup, and stir. After a couple of minutes, add corn.
  5. Cook for a few minutes to gently soften the bell pepper. If the sauteed turkey with veggies seems too dry, add some water.
  6. Finally, taste for seasoning and garnish with spring onions. Serve with nice warm rice.

Notes

Of course, you can also use a wok for this recipe.

Sweet paprika powder is also good for seasoning. You can add it when you put the meat in the pan.
