Description
Authentic and simple guacamole is a great recipe not just for breakfast. This amazing avocado spread will give you a healthy and tasty start to the day. I bring you the original recipe for real guacamole.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1 lime (juice)
- 1 small onion (yellow or red)
- 2 Roma tomatoes
- 1 chili pepper (jalapeno)
- 1 tbsp fresh coriander
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- First, make sure your avocados are ripe. Cut the avocado in half (lengthwise), remove the pit and scoop out the flesh with a spoon. Put in a bowl.
- Mash avocados up with a fork. Then add the finely chopped onion, tomato, and jalapeno to the bowl.
- Add lime juice, season with salt and pepper. Mix well.
- Finally, roughly chop the fresh coriander and add to your guacamole.
- Taste for seasoning, it might need more salt or lime juice.
- Serve with some tortilla chips. The nice crispy bread is also a wonderful choice.
Notes
If you prefer a mild spiciness, remove the seeds and membrane from the jalapeno.
You can also add a pinch of ground cumin to guacamole.
Don’t mush up the avocado too much. Smaller pieces add a good texture to guacamole. But if you like a creamier consistency, feel free to mash the avocado into a creamy texture.
